news

There are rumblings about a tour in February with Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster and What the Blood Revealed, I'll let you know more when I can.

In other news we've finally finished our latest EP that we recorded earlier this year and we're keen to get it released as soon as possible. I think end of the year is a realistic goal.

We're looking to put on some shows at our new practise space so if you're a band wanting a show in Sheffield then fire us an email.

More later.

...right...

Sometimes logic drives you to do very strange things. A minute ago I bid on a copy of Mammalian on ebay, something I never saw myself doing. The auction can be found here if you fancy picking up a pretty cheap copy then my max bid is £2.50 and postage is £1 (we'll get onto that later). I'm assuming this cat bought it and didn't really dig it so they're selling it on which is totally cool. I do it the whole time. If they're a reviewer who received a free copy then I'm not that impressed but whatever, it's their choice and they probably gave us a decent review which is payment enough.

Anyway, that isn't the point. I've made a bid on a copy of our album because I stand a good chance of getting it for cheaper than what it cost us to have it made. Each copy of the album cost us £3.50 and we've been selling them for £5. We've got around 20 copies left (slightly less probably) and will have made our money back on it. Obviously it goes on the costs of touring/our practise room so we don't see any of it but it does go a long way to covering our costs. People have been really kind to us over the past couple of years and bought CDs and shirts which have helped us go some way to covering our costs. I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank anyone who was been involved with us.

We're working on the tracks we recorded a couple of months ago and our next release will be soon. September seems to be the month that's getting mentioned most, we'll see. Also, if you don't want to risk the myriad of dodgy torrent sites that have our album up then you can grab it off our bandcamp for whatever price you like.

mexploitation

We've got a new video up which is for a song called mexploitation. It was going to be on our next release but I think we've ditched it from there so here it is:

We're also setting up our bandcamp where you can download this track as a pay-what-you-want download and the whole of Mammalian as a pay-what-you-want download. naisian.bandcamp.com. Enjoy.

good month or so

Since our last post we've toured with Tree of Sores (killer) and played some other shows. Thanks to Ben, Talia and Matt of Tree of Sores for a really good time, everyone who put us on and Oli Foxen in Bristol for putting us up. We're mixing our next release and we're pretty close to finish it. It's now going to a be a two-track release. We've also got a little present which should be up on the internet within the next week but no promises. We have no gigs lined up so offer us some stuff and we can probably do it. Also, follow our twitter for more regular updates and pictures and that. also, we troll celebrities a lot so maybe join us in that?

On the merch front we don't have much left; 10 shirts and 20 albums. Buy it. Anyway, new EP artwork is on its way and more information coming soon. Here are lots of pictures, mostly from tour

recording done/short break/end of may tour

So we had some awesome shows in May. Knut and Keelhaul was incredible. We also recorded our new EP in April and we've started mixing. Artwork is in the pipeline, will be by Miriam Dobson who did the Mammalian painting.

We're taking a few weeks off and we're all psyched for end of May tour with Tree of Sores. We're still looking for a date on May 31st, hit us up if you can help or know anyone who can. Merch stuff, we've sold out of grey shirts and we're running out of Mammalian albums. Sadly all the money we've made has gone on various things (petrol, van hire, rent etc.) so we won't be able to afford another run for a short while.

Here are some photos from recording. Sorry about the poor quality, I forgot to take my camera to the studio:

plans

we're planning for a release that will happen in the summer. 3 tracks now, two are heavy and one is a jam track but nothing like the one on the last release (mammalian). we're recording from April 15th-17th and we'll probably do most of it live. potential tracklisting is:

1.Welcome to the Cool Club
2. Mexploitation
3. Cptn. Cluedo

In other news we've had a bunch more reviews for Mammalian. One in Rock Sound gave us 9/10 which is sweet, massive respect to them. Others:

Echoes and Dust
Room Thirteen
Metal Perspective

And we're still looking for gigs with Tree of Sores on May 29th, 31st and June 1st if there's anyone wanting to put us on. Also looking for shows in late June/early July with Whitemare.

had to cancel a show, sorry!/need to book a tour

Unfortunately we've had to cancel the gig we were meant to be playing on April 21st at Bannerman's in Edinburgh. I've just got a new job and start that week so I can't get time off to play it. We were all really looking forward to visiting Edinburgh as none of us have been yet but we will rearrange the gig for later in the year. Sorry!

We're looking for shows with Tree of Sores (who are awesome) on May 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st and June 1st. If anyone can help us out with a show then email us. Address is on the right.

In other news, more Mammalian reviews:
The Sleeping Shaman
Heavy Planet
The Obelisk
Global Domination

new shows, recording, tours

We've got a bunch of shows coming up in April which should be good. If anyone can sort us out with some more then that'd be great. Unusually for us we're playing two gig in Sheffield in the same month but it'll be worth coming to both as we'll be playing totally different sets at each, none of the same songs. We'll also be playing new tracks at all of the shows in April.

We're recording in mid-April and hopefully we'll have a new release out in the summer. We're planning tours this summer with Tree of Sores from Leeds and Whitemare from Brighton. Both will be around late May/early-mid June. Details of shows will be in a box on the side of this page.

Right, Mammalian is out now and can be bought from our store. We also have t-shirts available for £4 + postage. We have about 20 left and some sizes have sold out. Album launch went swimmingly and if you weren't there then you should check out Antares, Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster and Bleaklow all of whom are awesome.

After the album launch we ventured south. While there we were assaulted by builders, played a show and Michael got a kitten. Here are some more Mammalian reviews:

Activity!

First reviews coming through for Mammalian which is out on February 26th. The artwork will be done soon and we're working on new stuff. 2 new tracks in the works, one is finished and we'll be playing it on our dates in February. We're aiming to have them written and recorded by May time and hopefully planning a summer release, maybe a split EP, we have some ideas. Lyrics so far are about hippies and private schools. Gig at the Hobgoblin in Bath has been cancelled unfortunately, some issue with the venue but we're hoping it'll happen with a similar lineup in the summer. In the meantime, check of Sons of the Sand who we were meant to be playing with. Here are some photos from the recording of our first EP over two years ago.

Finally!

We've finished our album. Waiting on artwork now and sent promo copies out already. The release date will be Febrary 26th I think but that's subject to change. Hey, it's only a year after we started recording it! We have some gigs coming up, here's how they're looking so far with more to be added:

February 12th - Bath at the Hobgoblin
February 17th - Edinburgh at Bannerman's
February 19th - London at the Unicorn in Camden

Plans for a Sheffield Corporation show sometime in March are in the pipeline. In the meantime, does anyone know how to tie dye a marijuana leaf?
